Mission & Vision

As I began my journey in the Lord, there are several people who left an imprint on my life. The first person was my Grandma. I was inspired by the goodness and kindness of her.
She always taught us to love people no matter who they were or where they were from. One memory I have of my grandma is how she was always whispering prayers quietly. Although I really didn’t take notice of what she was doing until after I became a Christian, that memory I treasure so much. Then there was an older couple who lived and breathed the Bible, and I was friends with their daughter Tammy beginning at the age of three. As I got older they encouraged me, always taking me to church and telling me about God. Finally when I was twenty one years old I went up to the alter and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life. I then became a new creature, and the old things passed away.
Unfortunately my dad and mother were not able to stay together. Daddy was in the
army and our mother left me and my siblings probably at least twenty times by the time I was in the fourth grade. My parents then divorced and we rarely ever saw our Mother. We lived in many states all over the country. Daddy was an alcoholic but he always worked, provided for us, and loved us. When we were fortunate enough, we lived with my grandma and grandpa in Minneapolis, North Carolina. All who love and live in Minneapolis call it Dogtown, this was
home to me and still is. My dad and mother had my older brother, myself and then my younger sister. Later, Daddy would marry again and we would have a step-sister and step-brother, however this marriage only lasted about six months. Daddy later married again, and raised his wife’s daughter who became our sister and then they would have another child, my baby sister. They also divorced. I guess most of us have brokenness in our families, we just have to make the best of what we have. My mother also remarried but she was never a big part in our lives. My brother called her his California Momma. Although we were rarely around her family members, we have grown to love them very much.
I am a Mother of three beautiful daughters and one granddaughter. They are all the love of my life. The only greater love in my heart is for my best friend and Savior Jesus Christ. But most importantly all my children are born again Christians and my granddaughter has always loved the Lord. Nothing means more than knowing your kids are prepared for the Lord’s coming!
